I.

Ordering & Delivery.

A conversation, a sketch, six weeks in the workshop, and a bath at your door.
How long does a bath take to make?

Six weeks, from the day your name goes into the ledger. We will not quote fewer; occasionally — if the workshop is full — we will need seven. We will always tell you honestly.

Do I need to pay in advance?

A fifty-per-cent deposit secures your place in the ledger. The balance is due on the day the bath is despatched from Kent, and can be paid by bank transfer or by card.

How much is delivery?

Delivery inside mainland Britain is included in the price. Ireland, the Channel Islands, and the European Union are quoted individually. Worldwide is by air-freight and quoted at the time of order.

Can I change my mind after ordering?

Yes — but only up to the day we begin your bath. After that, the copper is cut to your dimensions and cannot be returned. Any change made before then, we will make without a fuss.

What happens on delivery day?

Our own two-person team drives the bath from Kent to your address, unpacks it, and sets it exactly where you want it. Delivery is by appointment, always on a weekday morning.

II.

Materials & Finishes.

Copper, brass, nickel, enamel — and everything you might do with them.
What is the copper made from?

Sheet copper, one and a half to two millimetres thick, sourced from British recyclers wherever possible. Every sheet is tested for purity before it enters the workshop.

How many finishes do you offer?

Six standard finishes: antique copper, polished copper, polished nickel, polished brass, white enamel, and hammered copper. Bespoke finishes — verdigris, charcoal, brushed — are quoted individually.

Can I mix finishes on one bath?

Yes — and most of our clients do. An antique copper exterior with a polished nickel interior is our most popular combination. Any exterior can be paired with any interior.

Are the finishes sealed?

By default, yes — with a food-grade lacquer that seals the copper and keeps its appearance for years. If you prefer an unsealed “living” finish that will patinate with use, tell us at the time of order.

III.

Care & Ageing.

A copper bath does not need much. But it appreciates a little.
How do I clean a copper bath?

Warm water and a soft cloth. That is all. Never use abrasive cleaners, wire wool, or anything acidic (including lemon juice or vinegar — both will strip a lacquered finish).

Will the copper change colour over time?

Yes, gently, if the finish is unsealed. Polished copper softens into a deeper amber over about ten years. Antique copper barely changes. Sealed baths keep their day-one appearance almost indefinitely.

Can a bath be re-finished later?

Yes. Every bath we make is welcome back at the workshop for re-polishing, re-plating, or a change of finish. We charge only the cost of the metal work and the delivery.

Are copper baths safe for children?

Entirely. Copper is naturally antimicrobial and non-porous. It heats up quickly and cools down slowly — perfect for a small child at the end of a long day.

IV.

Trade & Commissions.

Do you offer a trade discount?

Yes — to registered architects, interior designers, developers, and specialist contractors. Apply through the trade account page; a first response arrives within two working days.

Can I commission a bespoke bath?

Almost always. Custom lengths, unusual finishes, bespoke feet, and one-off commissions are quoted individually. We can accommodate almost anything — provided it can be raised from copper by hand.

Do you provide CAD or BIM files?

Yes. Every collection has a full set of CAD blocks, IFC files, and BIM objects for Revit and ArchiCAD. Trade account holders can download them; anyone else can request them by email.

Can I visit the workshop?

By appointment, always. Trade visits welcome any weekday. Bring your drawings — we’ll bring the tea.
